The Bo Phut Tradition   

 

This is a full ceremony, which involves the chanting and blessing by Buddhist Monks. This will normally take place at a suitable time of your choice in the morning. Locations are varied, from Sala Thai, on the beach, in the garden or even around the pool area. This is a truly Samui style ceremony, orchestrated especially for you.

     The format of the ceremony is as follows:
The long drum dance procession arrives at the room of the bridal couple to escort the couple to the ceremonial venue.
The procession arrives at the ceremonial venue.
The bridal couple sits side by side at the bridal table.
Buddhist religious rite begins with the chanting and blessing by 5 monks.
  - Lighting the holy candles by the bridal couple
- Sprinkling of holy water by the monks
- Blessing and poring of holy water by the guests and hotel management staffs.
- The bridal couple exchange rings (if applicable)
The bridal couple offers alms to the monks.
The bridal couple offers food to the monks.
The monks leave after lunch.
Bridal couple plants their “coconut love tree” at the resort.
Wedding registration, if required.
The bridal couple cuts the cake and opens a bottle of Champagne
The bridal couple has their private Thai luncheon or private dinner at their choice of location.
